Baruti’s Gifts

Baruti was a wise man. He lived among the trees in the forest of Africa. He had special powers. He could cure sickness and grant wishes.

One day, four men came to see Baruti.

The first man walked up to Baruti. He knelt in the ground.

The man said, “I have been a bad person. I want to be good. Will you help me?”

The second man stood with a hat in his hand. He was old.

He said, “I work hard but I am tired. I need to build a home for my family. Will you help me?”

The third man kept his head low. He did not look Baruti in the eye.

He said, “I am kind but I am very shy. I want friends to love. Will you help me?”
