Edison Versus Tesla

Mrs. Brown stood in front of her class. “It’s time for the science fair!” she said. “The winner gets a blue ribbon.”

The students were excited. They talked about their ideas.

Mrs. Brown looked at her two best students. They were Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla.

“Now, you two,” she warned. “I don’t want any trouble this year!”

“Yes, Mrs. Brown,” the boys said.

After class, Thomas and Nikola glared at each other.

“My project will be way better than yours,” Tom said.

“We’ll see about that,” Nik replied.

Tom and Nik rushed home. They both had laboratories in their attics. They worked all night long.

Even their parents wondered what they were up to.
