Little Billy Shakespeare

“William Shakespeare!” Billy’s mother yelled. “Stop dreaming and plant those seeds!”

Billy dropped his head. He sighed and said, “This stinketh!”

Billy didn’t like gardening. His seeds never grew.

“William Shakespeare!” his mother called the next day. “Stop writing and catch some fish.”

“This stinketh too!” Billy sighed.

Billy didn’t like to fish. He tried and tried. But not once did he catch any fish.

“William Shakespeare,” his mother said. “All you do is dream and write. Go do something!”

But Billy didn’t know what to do. He wasn’t good at sports. He couldn’t grow potatoes, corn or wheat. He couldn’t even catch a fish.

Billy kicked the ground with his foot.

“It stinketh not knowing what to do,” Billy said sadly. “Surely I am good at something!”
