Little Molly’s Pitcher

Molly was a little girl. She liked to help her mom with dinner. She would set the table and serve drinks.

She always carried a pitcher. It was a special pitcher that her father gave her.

Nearby, the Revolutionary War had begun.

“Molly wants to be a brave hero in the war!” said Pitcher to the lamp.

“But she is just a little girl,” laughed the lamp. “She cannot fight.”

The war was fought day after day.

Soon it was summer. On one very hot day, the war came to the town where Molly and Pitcher lived.
