The Selfish Giant

Every day after school, children would play in the giant’s garden.

It was a lovely garden filled with birds, flowers, and peach trees.

One day, the giant returned from a long trip. He found the children playing in his garden.

“This is my garden,” he growled.

The children ran away.

The next day, he posted a sign on his gate. The sign said:

NO CHILDREN ALLOWED

“Oh no,” cried one child. “We can’t play here anymore. What a selfish giant!”

They sadly walked home.
