Volcanoes

Let’s learn about volcanoes!

Most volcanoes look like large mountains. At the top of each mountain is a hole.

The hole in the top of a volcano goes into the earth several miles.

It ends in a pool of magma. Magma is made up of hot, liquid rock.

When pressure builds under the earth’s surface, magma rushes up. Liquid rock, ash, and gases explode out of the volcano.

This is called an eruption.
