Zombie Elementary: The Tell-Tale Clock

“Over here is our Dracula display,” the museum guide told the class from Zombie Elementary. The students had already seen artifacts from Dr. Jekyll’s laboratory and icicles from the Yeti’s lair.

“This is his cape, and these are his fangs.” The guide looked around. “That’s strange. Dracula’s clock is missing.”

At the end of the tour, Zack, Tina, and Ivan walked home together. Ivan was struggling to carry his backpack.

“Ivan,” Zack said. “Why is your backpack so heavy?”

“I, uh, bought a bunch of souvenirs,” Ivan answered curtly.

When Ivan got home, he went right to his room. He opened his pack and took out an old wooden clock. It was Dracula’s clock! Ivan had stolen it from the museum.

“Whew,” he exhaled. “I can finally relax! Nobody has any idea I stole the clock.” He put the clock under his bed for safekeeping.

“Why would the museum want it anyway?” Ivan thought. “It doesn’t even work. And since I’m Dracula’s number one fan I should have it!”

Ivan tucked himself into bed and drifted off to sleep.
