Cuántos Tamales

I smell something yummy. Abuela is cooking!

“Abuela” means “grandmother” in Spanish.

Abuela is making tamales. I love tamales!

I watch her roll the tamales. She is very careful. I ask Abuela if I can help.

“Sí,” says Abuela. In Spanish, “sí” means “yes.”

“¿Cuántos tamales?” Abuela asks. “How many tamales do we need?” Abuela asks.

“I will go count!” I say.

We need one tamale for everyone in my family. “Uno” means “one.”
