Daniel's First Haircut

Daniel walked into the barbershop. He held Astronaut Andrew in one hand. He held Mom’s hand with the other.

The shop was big and bright. Daniel felt small.

“If you’re good,” Maureen the barber said, “I’ll give you a sour candy.”

Daniel liked sour candy but he did not like haircuts.

Daniel climbed into the big, black chair. Maureen raised the chair. She put an apron over his clothes.

The chair was too high for Daniel. The apron was too tight on his neck.
