Danya the Dancer

Danya is a dreidel. Dreidels are made to spin and dance, but Danya is different.

Out of all the dreidels in her class, Danya is the only dreidel that cannot dance.

When the class twirls, Danya topples.

When the class hops, Danya hobbles.

The big show is just a few days away. Danya desperately wants to dance like the other dreidels.

Miss Debony is Danya’s teacher.

“Miss Debony,” Danya asks, “can you teach me to dance?”

“I can,” Miss Debony says. “But it will take a lot of practice.”
