Dill Pickle’s Christmas Adventure

One night, a pickle woke up in a Christmas tree. His name was Dill.

“What is going on?” Dill asked. “How did I get here?”

Dill usually lived in a pickle jar.

Dill leaned out of the branches.

He saw a pretty angel glowing up above.

“You’re the Christmas Pickle!” the angel said. “Billy and Susi will be looking for you. It is a game they play before they open their gifts.”

“I just want to go back to my jar!” Dill said. He didn’t care about silly pickle games.

“Then you better be on your way,” the angel said. “You have a long way to go.”

Dill began to climb down the tree.

Bright lights and big, shiny bulbs hung on the branches. A dove saw little Dill.

“Yum,” said the dove. “I love pickles!” The dove flew down from its branch.
