Emily’s First Summer Camp

Emily couldn’t sleep. In the morning, she was going to summer camp for the first time. She was scared.

“What if I don’t make any friends?” she asked her mom. “What if no one likes me?”

“Why don’t you close your eyes,” Mom said. “I’ll tell you a story about when I went to summer camp.”

Her mother began to tell her the story. Emily closed her eyes. She drifted off to sleep.

Emily dreamed that she was going to summer camp.

She said goodbye to her mom and got on a bus with the other kids.
