Jimmy and Tito

Tito was a German Shepherd. He joined the Army when he was two years old. He was very excited.

Tito met his human, Jimmy, on his first day. Jimmy had bright red hair.

Tito slept next to Jimmy’s bed. Every morning he woke Jimmy up with a bark.

“Let’s go for a run,” Jimmy said. They trained together every day.

Jimmy taught Tito to follow his whistle. It sounded like a spring bird.

Jimmy would hide. Then Jimmy would blow his whistle. Tito always found Jimmy right away.

“Good boy!” Jimmy said.

One day, Tito and Jimmy were sent off to fight.

“Are you ready boy?” Jimmy asked Tito. Tito barked. Jimmy hugged Tito.

They both felt scared. They were glad they had each other.
