Laal Topi

Once upon a time, there was a little girl. She always wore a bright red cape with a hood.

Everyone called her “Laal Topi," which means “Red Hat.”

One day, Mama gave Laal Topi a basket.

“Naani is sick,” Mama said. “Take her these sweets.”

So, Laal Topi set off to visit her sick grandmother.

Along the way, Laal Topi met a wolf. He was called Bhediya. “Where are you going, Laal Topi?” Bhediya asked.

“I am going to visit Naani,” the girl said. “She lives on the other side of the jungle.”

Bhediya was clever and hungry! He wanted to eat Laal Topi for dinner.
