Max King of the Jungle

Maximilian. That’s a big name for a very small cat. But Max did not think he was small.

In his heart Max knew he was a lion!

No one tames a wild lion! No one tames Maximilian!

Then Susie adopted Max.

When Susie hugged Max, he puffed out his chest and turned up his nose.

“How dare she hug me!” Max thought. “Doesn’t she know I am the King of the Jungle?”

Susie, like Max, was small. But she knew she could do great things.

She imagined she was a great hunter.

Nothing was going to stop her from catching a wild lion.
