The Boy with Pink Socks

Jake loves art. He loves to draw and color.

Today, Jake is drawing a race car.

He colors it pink.

Frankie sits next to Jake.

He laughs at Jakes’s pink race car.

“Pink is a girl color!” he says.

Jake feels sad. He likes the color pink. He likes his pink race car.

He does not like to be teased.

The next day, Maddy brings cupcakes to school. It is her birthday.

Jake picks one with pink frosting.

Tom teases him. “Pink is for girls. Are you a girl?” he says.

Jake eats his cupcake, but he feels sad.
