How the Rabbit Got Long Ears

One day long ago, Rabbit was happily hopping about. The sun was high in the sky.

Rabbit looked down and saw his shadow.

His shadow was very small.

“I do not want to be as small as that,” Rabbit said.

So Rabbit stretched up. He stretched out. He stretched up and out so far that he fell over.

Rabbit’s shadow was still small.

“I will go to Great Creator,” he said. “He can make me bigger.”

Rabbit hopped through the woods.

At last he reached the Great Creator. He hopped up to him.

“Great Creator, I am here to ask for your help,” Rabbit said. “I am too small.”
