King David and the Spiders

When King David was a boy, he watched over his father’s sheep.

One day, he saw a spider’s web. It hung in the branches of a tree and shined in the sunlight.

The spider’s web was very beautiful but David could see no use for it.

David asked God about the web.

“God, why did you make spiders spin webs?” David asked. “You can’t even wear them as clothes!”

“One day, a spider’s web will help you. Then you will thank me,” God said.
