Krishna Lifts a Mountain

Each year it rained in the valley. The rain helped the people grow food on the mountain.

The people always thanked the god Indra for the rain.

Indra became proud. “I am the only god people should worship,” he said.

Krishna was a child, but he was very powerful. In fact, he was the most powerful god.

“Thank the mountain on which your food grows,” Krishna said. “Do not thank Indra.”

The people listened.
