My Pesky Valentine

It was Valentine’s Day.

“Valentine’s Day stinks,” Tina thought.

Every year, Miss Peabody had the students make Valentine cards.

Last year, pesky Tommy made Tina a card. The card had a picture of a monkey on it.

Under the monkey was one word: You! The entire class had laughed.

“Valentine’s Day stinks!” Tina muttered. This year, Tina was going to get even. She would make Tommy a card he would never forget.

Tina grabbed the blue crayon. She scribbled and scratched. She colored with the red crayon. She drew squiggly lines.

She drew the ugliest face she could imagine.

Under the face, she wrote:
You!
