No Cavities for Maria

Maria sits quietly in a big chair. She holds a stuffed tooth. It is her first visit to the dentist.

She is feeling a little scared.

“My name is Dr. Sara,” the dentist says.

Dr. Sara tilts the big chair all the way back.

Dr. Sara rolls out a strange-looking machine.

“This is an x-ray,” Dr. Sara says. “It takes pictures of your teeth.”

“Will it hurt?” Maria asks.

“Not at all,” Dr. Sara says. She puts a blanket over Maria.

Maria hears a click.
