The Christa McAuliffe Story

Christa McAuliffe loved outer space.

She was nine years old when the first satellite was launched into orbit. It was called Sputnik.

Five years later, John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth.

“Someday people will go to the moon,” Christa told her friends. “I want to do that!"

Christa was right.

In 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon.
