The Littlest Sailor

“PIRATES!”

The shout came from the crow’s nest high above the deck. Davy and his fellow sailors quickly looked out to the sea.

A pirate ship with a skull and crossbones was sailing toward them.

Davy ran across the deck to help raise the sails.

The captain put up a hand to stop him. “Not you, Davy,” he said, “You’re too small to help.”

Below deck, a group of sailors began rowing to give the ship even more speed. Davy grabbed an oar, too.

“You’re too little to row, Davy,” cried another sailor. “Get out of the way!”
