The Goalie's Crazy Contest

Alex loved to play soccer. He was the best goalie on the Clay Street Kickers team.

When the other team charged his net, Alex would stop every shot. He would dive for the ball, catch it, and then punt it far down the field.

The night before the big game, Alex went to bed early. As he fell asleep, his body parts started to argue.

“We win games because of me,” said Right Leg. “I kick the ball away from the goal.”

“Oh yeah?” countered Left Leg. “Without me to help hold us up, we'd fall right over!”

The arms joined the argument. “You’re both wrong,” they said. “The goalie’s arms are the most important.”

“Let’s settle this once and for all,” Right Leg said. “Whoever blocks the most goals tomorrow is the winner.”

“It's a deal!” the arms and legs replied.
