My best friend Valerie thinks she is unlucky.

Two months ago, she broke her favorite mirror. Valerie’s big brother told her that means she will have seven years of bad luck.

The day after she broke the mirror, Valerie went to the dentist.

She had a cavity and had to get her first filling!

Later, Valerie went grocery shopping with her mom. On the way to the store, Valerie stepped on a crack.

That same day, Valerie’s mom hurt her back. Valerie thought it was all her fault.
