Oh Boloney

Barnaby Jones was a crabby old man. He had a puff of grey hair over each ear. His eyes were squeezed tight. His face always had a frown.

Day after day Barnaby sat on his porch. Day after day he frowned at everyone who walked by.

No one knew what to make of him. No one knew why Barnaby Jones was so crabby.

One day, Cathy Carlisle tried to sell him cookies. Barnaby didn’t buy a single one.

“Cookies!” Barnaby yelled. “Oh boloney!”

Cathy dropped her cookies and dashed out of sight.
