The Forgotten Lunch

“Lunch time!” Chris yells. “Let’s go play Wizards and Warlocks.”

“Yea!” says Nathan. “But this time I get to be the wizard!”

Nathan shoves his lunch to the back of his locker.

He shoves it back behind his books. Back behind his stinky gym socks. Back behind the science project that went horribly wrong.

“I’ll eat it tomorrow,” Nathan says.

But tomorrow comes and goes. And Nathan’s lunch sits in his locker.

It sits there for a whole week. It sits there for another week after that.

Nathan’s lunch has been forgotten. And a strange thing starts to happen to that lunch.
